My name is Sue Rietveld and I'm a creative.

While there's no "typical" creative type, we're usually adventurous, question-asking, risk-taking, beauty-appreciating, spirited, people-watching, daydreaming, easily-amused, hardworking, passionate people. When I was younger, I never imagined that I would become a commercial artist. I simply thought I would create art for the sake of art. Now, as a graphic designer, I realize the power of this package.

The Art Dept is a vibrant, forward thinking design studio experienced in graphic design and marketing. My passion is in helping small businesses and nonprofits establish a polished presence and professional company identity.

I offer the same services as the Big Advertising Agencies: graphic design, marketing, social media management, and consulting - only more affordably. Small businesses and nonprofits face their own unique marketing challenges. It's my goal to overcome the notion that unless you are a national chain you can only afford to have a run-of-the-mill, ordinary, 'template' appearance. That couldn't be further from the truth.
